Tiffany & Co has reimagined the iconic design of Jean Schlumberger, who created a humorous and exquisite brooch featuring a bird perched on a gemstone in 1965. This cultural motif has been reinterpreted in a capsule high jewelry collection called “Bird on a Pearl.” The collection features incredibly rare natural saltwater pearls, sourced from the private collection of Mr. Hussein Al Fardan, renowned for owning the largest collection of natural pearls in the Gulf region.

The pearls display subtle gradients of dark gray, gray, light cream, light pinkish-brown, and white, reminiscent of Schlumberger’s unique aesthetic. The collection’s highlight is a three-strand necklace adorned with graduated natural saltwater cream pearls totaling over 316 carats, accented by diamond birds with pink sapphire eyes fluttering over the creamy strands. Other pieces in the collection include a brooch with baroque, button, and near-round pearls, as well as pendant, earrings, and rings.

Schlumberger’s artistic influence is evident throughout the collection, with undulating curves in a ring set with a light pinkish-brown pearl, mismatching earrings featuring a white drop pearl and a dark gray drop pearl, and baroque pearls serving as intriguing perches for diamond-speckled birds.
