With the O-Bold watch, Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka returns to the model after their joint “O” watch series from 2011, created to commemorate Issey Miyake Watch’s 10th anniversary. The “O” has been produced in a wide range of hues and modifications since its introduction. The most recent O-Bold will be displayed during the Salone del Mobile 2023 Issey Miyake Milan shop exhibit.
The collaboration between Yoshioka and Issey Miyake demonstrates the effectiveness of bringing together designers from several industries to produce hero items. Yoshioka is also responsible for the Issey Miyake flagship store in Tokyo. But getting back to the O-Bold, it is more of a status symbol for the Issey Miyake brand than a unique collectible.
